Michael Moreno
Director - DIGITAL ENGINEERING
The Digital Engineer, who also loves to build fantasy football teams.
Professional Overview
Michael Moreno is a digital engineering and 3D modelling specialist who “builds the job before it’s built.” An early adopter of Revit for transport and bridge structures, he couples hands-on modelling with robust engineering to create fully coordinated, constructible solutions. Michael is at his best on complex, multi-disciplinary projects - bridges, stations, culverts and major road works where his integrated models surface issues early, sharpen member sizing, and de-risk construction. His work on flagship programs such as the M12 Motorway (piloting a new digital framework) and Sydney Metro’s Waterloo Station (where his digital execution plan and processes were commended by the contractor) illustrates his blend of technical depth, clarity of process, and delivery discipline.
Passionate about staying at the forefront of technology, Michael actively tests new tools and builds repeatable, automated workflows -choosing durable solutions he can reuse across projects. He thrives in the “integration space” between design and delivery: translating calculations into visual, buildable detail; running coordination sessions; and helping teams and clients truly see what they’re about to construct. While he’s fluent in BIM production, he also brings the perspective of a digital engineering manager, aligning models, metadata and information requirements so project teams meet obligations efficiently and consistently.
Collaborative and practical, Michael’s working style is calm, curious and solutions-focused. He values candid engagement with engineers, technicians and contractors alike, using visual evidence to drive decisions and improve outcomes. Outside work he enjoys time outdoors with family -an anchor that keeps his approach grounded and people-centred, while his professional goal is to continue building CSS’s presence in South Australia by pairing advanced digital capability with trusted engineering delivery.
