Melbourne Renewable Energy Hub

CSS was commissioned by Daly’s Constructions to provide construction design and documentation of the footings for three cable termination structures within the MREH switchyard. CSS also produced a temporary works structural design for a cable support structure which was utilised during cable installation.

Technical Innovations

The design was achieved using a simple mono-pile design which balanced constructability constraints with fast and easy construction and minimal material usage.

Benefits to Client

  • Simple and repetitive design for ease of construction

  • Cost savings with single pile solution

  • Co-ordinated design to ensure temporary cable excavations could be achieved after installation

Deliverables to client

CSS provided all the structural engineering aspects of the bund wall strengthening, wall system design and supporting foundations. CSS was also able to provide ongoing advice during construction
