Eastern Creek Raceway

Eastern Creek Raceway

Eastern Creek Raceway is Sydney’s recently relocated motor race track. CSS was involved in the race circuit crash gates design, perimeter walls to the circuit, proof checking of debri fences (8m high, with 3m deformation capacity to absorb energy) and slabs for maintenance pits

Technical Innovations

As part of the design, CSS undertook a second order finite element analysis for the debri fencing. This fencing has been designed as part of the containment system for airborne vehicles and fragments

Deliverables to client

CSS delivered the design of the crash gates, debri fencing proof checking through modelling, perimeter wall design, slabs for maintenance pits inclusive of a bracing concept associated with the buildings for the maintenance pits and subsequent drafting support.

Benefits to Client

CSS was able to provide a design and proof checking to an advanced level, that had given the client greater surety with a high risk design. This was followed by detailed construction documentation.
